Chairman’s Message

Once again the Royal Military Canal becomes the glorious setting for our Hythe Venetian Fete.  Local people and organisations prepare their floats in many varied and magnificent ways to produce our unique water spectacular.

This year, we not only have the pleasure of welcoming the Mayor of Hythe and the Mayors of the Cinque Ports, but also the Lord Warden of the Cinque Ports, the Admiral the Lord Boyce GCB OBE DL and other honoured guests.

To the competitors, committee members, judges and the host of other voluntary workers who have worked so hard to prepare this Fete and to the many local firms who have given assistance, donated draw prizes or sponsored various parts of our programme - I offer my very grateful thanks.  May all their efforts be rewarded by a most successful Fete.
